The Renaissance Fair

After we got back from the game the next day, me, Riley, and the fam all got dressed up and went to the Renaissance Fair. It's a medieval festival that is put on annually, where everyone dresses up and they have stands with crafts, food, jewelry, and costumes. They put on jousting shows and comedy stand ups. The people that travel and help put on this festival speak in the accent and slang of the times. It's pretty neat! I've always loved going as a kid. Riley wore her little sundress and hat, taking in all the sites then took a little nap on a hay bale.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

The Boston Red Sox were coming to the Angels Stadium on July 18th, so I asked Alicia if she wanted to go with Riley and I. She definitely wanted to go, so we got our tickets, then when the day came we packed up the van and headed down to Anaheim. We were stuck in 3 hours of horrible traffic, then had to wait in line to just get into the parking lot. We arrived at the bottom of the 2nd inning, but we had awesome seats!! We lost horribly to the Angels, but we still had a great time. We happened to be sitting by a bunch of Red Sox fans which was awesome. We just kicked back, had some hot dogs, peanuts and beer and we were good to go! We even got to see Manny hit a home run that landed near our section! Then to top it all off, there were fireworks at the end of the game. After we got out of the stadium, we headed to Sonic for our late night snack.

Milestones!

So Riley has been working really hard to get going on some of those milestones. She can lift her heard really high while on her belly. She can also grab items, and loves to grab her toy in the car seat that plays music when pulled. And she just recently started rolling over! She's now trying really hard to sit up by herself but that one will have to wait a little while.

The Fourth of July

For the Fourth of July we decided to go to a local baseball game. Our team is called the SLO Blues. So the whole fam, along with some family friends gathered up some blankets and headed to the stadium. Riley doesn't really like all the sporadic cheering and general loudness of the game, but she does love fireworks! So it was quite a treat for her to see them at the end of the game. It was an all around fun night, and a great Fourth!

It's Been Awhile!

Hey Everyone! Sorry for the lack of updating. I've had a lot going on! But boy, do I have a lot to share with you! The next few blogs will be from the flight back to California to now. I know you're all excited!

So on June 21st, Riley, Dad, and I all got on the plane in Portland, ME to fly back to San Luis Obispo, CA. We landed at our first stop, Washington DC, after being delayed half an hour in Portland. Then we missed our flight. Only to miss the next one after that. So we had to wait in the DC airport for a few hours, then flew to Las Vegas to wait another few hours. Our plane from there to SLO ended up being veryyyy delayed, so we didn't end up getting home til 3 am. It was quite a long day! Riley did good, she only fussed when we first got on the planes then fell right to sleep. She is the most amazing baby.
